Bible Ark of Covenant: Ethiopia journey from Jerusalem to Africa REVEALED

Bible Archaeology, Search & Exploration Institute (BASE) claim there is strong evidence that the Old Testament Ark’s resting place is in Ethiopia.

The Ark of the Covenant is one of the most sought after relics mentioned in the Bible – first emerging as Moses led the Jews out of Israel.

It is said the chest contains the Ten Commandments handed down to the Exodus prophet on Mount Sinai.

Legends of the  Ark are intrinsically linked to the end of days, and either Judgement Day, or in Judaism the coming of the Messiah.

And BASE claim this is the path the Ark would have taken if it really is hidden at the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion in Axum.

Jews fleeing persecution would have travelled thousands of miles over hundreds of years before delivering the Ark to Ethiopia.

“St. Mary’s of Zion church in Axum, Ethiopia, is the resting place either of an incredible replica, or, of the actual Ark of the Covenant itself”

BASE

BASE’s tale of the Ark of the Covenants’s suspected route begins in around 687BC when King Manasseh took the throne of Judah.

It states that priests of the Temple Mount would have taken the Ark from the temple in response to violence and persecution in Jerusalem.

The scholars cite Bible verses which seem to imply the Ark was removed the temple by the time of King Josiah.

“Our belief is that a pure Levitical priesthood would not have tolerated the degrading and polluting of the Temple containing the Ark of the Covenant,” BASE said.

Jews would have then taken the Ark to ancient Egypt and set up a small colony on Elephantine Island.

Escaping persecution and violence, the group would have moved on by around 650 BC.

BASE claim they have evidence of a temple – built to the dimensions of Solomon’s Temple – has been found, which they suggest may have housed the Ark.

It appears the temple was destroyed in 410BC – with BASE admitting it is “unknown” why – and the Ark was then moved on into Africa.

BASE then conclude the Ark must have been shipped down the Nile as it travelled to Ethiopia.

It suggested decedents of Moses may have already been living in Africa to offer refuge to the Ark.

It is suggested the relic found home on Tana Krikos island on Lake Tana, where there is evidence of Levitical style rituals.

The ark then appeared to have taken to Axum in around 338AD as Christianity took over Ethiopia – where it is housed at the church in Axum.

BASE have described evidence of the Ark being in Ethiopia as “compelling” and said it has “strong potential”.

“What we have concluded is that St. Mary’s of Zion church in Axum, Ethiopia, is the resting place either of an incredible replica of the biblical Ark of the Covenant, or, of the actual Ark of the Covenant itself,” they said.

Priests at the church said to hold the Ark of the Covenant cannot even view the object, with just a guardian monk allowed to attend.

The holy man is confined to the chapel looking after the golden crate to his death, when another monk is then trained to take-up the lifelong position.

Legends about the end of days are linked to the recovery of the Ark, claiming the construction of the prophesied Third Temple – which would trigger the end times and the arrival of the Messiah – needs the crate to be returned to Jerusalem.

Prophecies state that Ark will be found just before Judgement Day when God should “gather his people again and receive them unto mercy”.

Other theories on the Ark’s location claim it remains hidden in its resting place beneath the Temple Mount, to being sunk in the Sea of Galilee, being concealed at Temple Herdewyke, near Leamington Spa, or or even being captured by the US.

To this day, there is no leading historical theory on what happened to the Ark and some question whether such an object ever existed at all.
