When Hudson McCarthy emailed a video to Chelsea some weeks ago, inviting the team to an authentic Aussie BBQ during their Perth visit, the youngster may not have expected too much.
Yet after finishing their second training session of the day, David Luiz, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Ethan Ampadu drove to the four-year-old’s house across town as a surprise.
Hudson’s parents told him he could stay up past his bedtime as his grandparents were visiting.

The visit occurred after the youngster invited Chelsea to his house for a barbecue
Luiz, Ampadou and Bakayoko were greeted with plenty of food by four-year-old McCarthy
However, he was left stunned when he opened the door to Luiz and Co. Luiz has been among the more popular players in Perth.
Following Chelsea’s open training session at the WACA Ground, the Brazilian thoughtfully stayed out for 35 minutes to sign autographs and take selfies.
The defender, Bakayoko and Ampadu all played football in Hudson’s garden, with Luiz teaching him his free-kick technique, before heading inside for food.

Hudson will be present for Chelsea’s match on Monday, when they face Perth Glory
Hudson will also be present at Optus Stadium on Monday to walk out with Ampadu in front of more than 50,000 supporters as the Blues face local side Perth Glory.
It will be Maurizio Sarri’s first match in charge of Chelsea since taking over from Antonio Conte.
