Chirivella played for Liverpool in Saturday’s final USA tour game – a 4-1 win over Manchester United in front of 101,000 fans.
But that is likely to be his last appearance in a Reds shirt after a £3.5million fee was agreed with Liverpool Rosenborg.
Chirivella, 21, will travel to Norway to undergo a medical in the next few days.
Liverpool will receive £2.4million up front with the fee potentially rising to £3.5million with add-ons.
As part of the deal the Reds have negotiated a buy-back option for each of his first three seasons at Rosenborg.
Rosenborg’s sporting director is former Red Stig Inge Bjornebye, who believes the youngster is the perfect fit for their fluent style.
Chirivella, who had two years left on his Liverpool contract, made five first-team appearances for the club.
During his time on Merseyside the midfielder, dubbed by some ‘the next Xabi Alonso’, had loan spells at Go Ahead Eagles and Willem II.
